The Best Consoles - Xbox One

The Xbox One is Microsoft's latest version of the Xbox. Released on November 22, 2013, the Xbox One is the successor to the Xbox 360.

To be honest, I’m not too sure why Xbox have named this console ‘One’ when it’s their third console. It seems a bit strange, however, apart from the name they’ve done a fantastic job with this particular console. Many of my close friends own the Xbox One and from the time that I’ve spent playing it, I think it is a really great console.

In August 2016, the Xbox One S was released as a hardware revision, similar to how PlayStation released the PlayStation 4 Pro and PlayStation 4 Slim. The Xbox One S comes in a white colour now and is 40% smaller than the original Xbox One as well as supporting vertical orientation with a stand. Along with this, physical buttons were implemented to replace the capacitive power and eject keys.

Right now at JB HI FI, you can pick up a 500GB Xbox One S in a bundle that includes Forza Horizon 3 for just $339. I think this is fantastic value for a great console. However, keep in mind that in order to play online you must purchase Xbox Live. The best value subscription for this is $79.95 for 12 months from JB HI Fi.

Therefore, I think the Xbox One or Xbox One S is a must buy and you won’t be disappointed with this console.
