Why is it so popular? – Iphone 6s Review

Despite iPhones being inferior to most android phones in hardware, the iPhone 6s today remains one of the most popular phones in Australia. Today I will try to understand why and will review this Apple flagship. Let’s take a look at some of its positives:

Positives
- iMessage is an exclusive iPhone messaging service similar to WhatsApp or Messenger. It takes messaging to a new level
- FaceTime. Video calling service similar to skype
- Fast performance, comparable to high-end Android devices such as the Samsung Galaxy series
- Better optimised for apps such snapchat and instagram
- Nicer looking emojis

That’s about all the advantages I saw in the iPhone and none of them are important for me personally. I am guessing it is iMessage that keeps user loyal as well as the belief that android phones are complicated to use. Now let’s look at some of the negatives of this phone.

Negatives
-Boring design. Iphone has had a very similar design for nearly 10 years. With phones such as the Galaxy s8 out it looks extremely outdated.
-Below average looking LCD screen, inferior to Samsung’s super AMOLED
-No fast charging. People with Android phones know how extremely useful and practical this feature is. Your battery can be at 5% and with a quick 10 min charge you can be back to 40% and ready to go. Alternatively, you can expect to charge most phones from 0 to 100% in just over an hour. On the other hand, the iPhone 6s takes nearly 2.5 hours to charge which is a major inconvenience.
-Lack of customisation like on Android phones
-Non-waterproof
-Below average battery life
-Price. Costly for an almost 2 yr old model

Final Verdict:
After using this phone for a few days, I couldn’t understand the popularity of it and am now understanding why more and more people are switching to Android. The only thing that I personally enjoyed is that videos on snapchat were of slightly higher quality. There were many things that I annoyed me, however, with the main two being the poor quality of the screen and lack of fast charging. At this point I will not be switching to iPhones anytime soon.
